WHATS ON MY FACE, CURRENT MAKEUP ROUTINE

Hello everyone!
I came to the realisation the other day that I am really enjoying my makeup routine at the moment, from the products I'm using to how it looks on my face. I'm going for a bit of rose gold/glowy theme at the moment, and I'm really liking how it's turning out. It's definitely one that suits the spring that is trying to come through and I am all for that!

EVERYDAY SPRING MAKEUP LOOK

Hey everyone!

I don't know about you, but the fact that it was officially the first day of spring on the 19th of March has got me into the mood for all things fresh and new. I wanted to update my every day makeup look to be more fresh, natural and glowing for this time of year. I'm really happy with how it's turned out, so I wanted to share it with you!

MY NUDE LIP FAVOURITES

Hello Everyone,
And happy Friday! Can we just appreciate that I am sticking to my new schedule like a BOSS. (Okay, I know it's only the second week, but start as you mean to go on, right?)

The weather right, let's face it is completely crap. And without Christmas to brighten it up, I really don't think I can take much more of this grey, cold and wet weather... which is why I am now focusing on looking forward to spring and warm weather and sun.

Now that it's not Christmas, I am pretty over red lips and really want to whack out all my nudes - so I thought today that I would round them up for you!

SLEEK HAS CREATED THE PALETTE OF DREAMS

Hello everyone!
Today I wanted to write a post about my favourite new eye shadow palette. I got this in my stocking on Christmas day, and I have been obsessed ever since. Honestly, this palette is so beautiful I couldn't resist sharing it with you!

MY MAKEUP STORAGE

Hello everyone!

I'm back today with my first beauty post of 2017 - no more new year posts I promise!

So, this christmas, my sister bought me a really awesome and useful present that I wanted to share with you. For ages, I've kind of had a bit of a state of limbo as to where to keep all my makeup - I switch from bags to a draw to sprawled out all over my desk... woops. But now, I have this amazing makeup storage box.

ALL OF MY 2016 FAVOURITES

Hello Everyone!

I feel like there are so many blog posts that can be done around the new year, and I really just want to do them all. I apologise if you've seen a lot of these sorts of posts recently, but I have quite a lot to say so didn't really want to skip out on it!

There has been so much that I have loved over the past year and it's going to be hard to get it all into one blog post, so know that if they made it here, I absolutely love these products and they are definitely worth the buy! I also wantend to put a little twist on it by incorperating beauty, fashion and lifestyle into this post rather than just beauty. Enjoy!

MY CHRISTMAS MAKEUP LOOK 2016

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you my go to makeup look for the festive season. At this time of year, we're often rushing about, doing our shopping, going to parties and making sure that we catch up with everyone, there can be very little time to focus on what makeup we do. I think that this is such a shame as the makeup that is acceptable at Christmas is so gorgeous, and a novelty because we don't really get to wear it at any other time of the year!

So here is  my go to make up look that I will be wearing throughout the rest of the week, so that I don't have to faff about with trying new products and know that it will look great in a hurry.

BEAUTY SINS I HATE TO ADMIT THAT I MAKE

Hello everyone!

Today I thought I would write a little bit of a different post. I have been soooo busy recently, which you can probably tell from my more sporadic blog post uploads and therefore super duper lazy in other aspects of my life. Sigh. These include a lot of 'beauty sins'. Things that bloggers and youtubers and the like always tell us not to do. But let's face it, I'm human and I'm really tired at the moment. Oh well what are new years resolutions for anyway?

MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS: URBAN DECAY NAKED ULTIMATE BASICS

Hello everyone!
It feels like ages since I posted, even though it's only been a week! I have had the craziest week, first I was at home for my birthday and spent the day in London with my boyfriend and went to a small gig near Kings Cross and stayed in a hotel afterwards. The day afterwards we went out for a lovely meal with my family at 'Bills', which I just have to say, was absolutely incredible. I know that Bill's isn't new or anything, but I'd never been before and I was thoroughly impressed. The food and drink was up my street and the ambiance was lovely. After that I had to rush back to uni and I've either been in lectures, at work or in the library completing assignments, and now I finally have a day off.

Today I thought I would give a first impressions post of the new(ish) Urban Decay Naked Pallette which I received for my birthday. I know it's been out for a while now, but I wanted to give my opinion on it.

ADORABLE PINK MAKEUP LOOK

Hello everyone!
The other day, I was bit bored (and kind of procrastinating uni work) so I decided to play around with makeup looks. It was one of those times that I ended up really liking the end result, despite not really having much of a plan - typically as well the furthest I went to show it off was the supermarket!
However, I thought that I would share it with you because I really like it.

4 FAVOURITE AUTUMN/ WINTER LIPSTICKS

Hello everyone!
I think that autumn is an awesome time of the year to try out new lipstick shades that you normally wouldn't go for... I know that I always feel like I can be more experimental when the weather's a bit colder!

AUTUMNAL MAKE UP LOOK

Hi everyone!
I can't believe it's already that time of year again and that tomorrow is Halloween! I absolutely love this day, and love getting into the spirit of it. This year, my house mates and I are going to a halloween party and then going out clubbing in one of our favourite night clubs (which is actually a renovated church?!?), which should be so fun.

I've  been really under prepared and not shot my halloween costume or make up to share with you (bad blogger points there) but I didn't want to do nothing at all. I think it's fair to say we are definitely in full swing of autumn, what with halloween and bonfire night coming up soon, so I thought I would share one of my favourite autumnal make up looks.

Beauty: What I've been loving recently

Hello everyone! It feels like an absolute age since I've talked about anything beauty related on my blog, which is really quite strange since I'm low key a little bit obsessed with make up. So I thought today you and I would have a little catch up about what beauty products have been currently popping up in my life.

1) Barry M lipstick in Red my lips
Ahhh one thing that I absolutely love about autumn is that it again becomes the season for lipstick, and in particular, I mean RED lipstick. If you're a lucky sod who can rock red lipstick in summer, I envy you. I, unfortunately have to wait until the colder months come around again. Recently I've absolutely been loving this Barry M one as it's just a lovely classic cherry red with a lovely sheen finish, which is my favourite kind of lipstick.

UNBOXING the best new flat iron!

Hello everyone!
For those of you who love a new hair gadget I've got an awesome blog post for you today. Recently, I was contacted by Irresistable Me asking me if I would like to try some of their hair extensions from their site. I looked at their site and was super excited as their clip in extansions look so amazing and natural and are such a good price, however I don't really use them as I already have ridiculously long hair (see pictures below). So they said that I could try one of their styling products. So after having a browse of the website I decided to have a go with the diamond flat iron* (retailed at the amazing price of $149!) as I'm long over due some new straighteners and these look right up my street.

The diamond flat iron came in a lovely black box which made it feel extra special. I opened it up and was instantly in love with the funky red colour! Taking it out of the box it's super lightweight and has a really good length cord (25 metres long!), which is perfect for me as I really can't sit still when I'm doing my hair and I love to have a little wonder around - anyone else the same?

Switching it on was really simple and had no need for instructions with a simple on/ off button and the green light switching on when it's on, and then plus and minus temperature buttons to control the heat, with the green light moving up and down as you get higher and lower. It also conviniently tells you when it's ready to use when by counting up the temperature until it has reached the correct one. And it heated up really quickly so I could use it pretty much straight away (thumbs up!)

I decided to try it out after having my hair in french plaits all day as my hair is actually naturally straight, so generally even the worst of straighteners will cure mine, so with this wavy hair from plaits I could give it a proper review. Here is what it looked like before, very wavy and crinkly at the bottom and the kind of hair that if you run a tangle teezer through it, it's going to puff out.

I sectioned out my hair and straightened it as normal (after putting on heat protection spray of course!). As I pressed it onto my hair it generally only took two swipes through my hair to make each strand straight, if not only one! For more curly hair, it my take a few more but probably not too many!  As I was straightening it was so clear how light the product is and how comfortable this makes straightening your hair, making sure that I don't get a dead arm from holding it up too long!

I love the final result! My hair is super straight as well as silky and smooth! It took barely any time at all to achieve this look so is perfect for those of you who are rushing around in the morning. My only criticism of this product would be that it doesn't come with a heat proof mat, which I see as an essential for any hair styling product to keep them from causing a fire or even just damaging surfaces. However the overall prouduct is definitely worth the buy!

Beauty: Current Summer Favourites

Hello Everyone!
I can't believe we are already in August. I know at least on person says that at the beginning of every month but... seriously? August? I swear it was just Christmas, I did not sign up for this. Anyway, before I start getting all nostalgic and sounding like I'm in the middle of my midlife crisis I'm going to get on with today's post. With technically only one month left of summer *sobs*, I thought I better get a wiggle on and let you know what I have been loving this summer so far in terms of beauty. That's one of the things that I absolutely love about the idea of the changing of the seasons, is that it's a great opportunity to completely change up your look. Every year I am ready and raring to go when it comes to breaking out the summer beauty products, its all glow and bronze and shimmer, what more could you want? I love the opportunity to feel like a Greek Goddess every day.

Rimmel London Rita Ora Nail Polishes
I absolutely love the shades for Rita Ora's Rimmel London nail polishes, despite the fact that they have actually been out for quite a while now. I just fine that they are all so summer and bright, you only need a maximum of two coats and they last decently for a few days without chipping, depending on what you are doing. The one that I find myself constantly reaching for is this one in 'Go Wild-er-ness' which is a gorgeous lilac colour which is the perfect mix between pastel and bright and would be perfect for a summer holiday or festival.

NYX Baked Blush in Chiffon
as I mentioned previously I am in love with glowy summer looks and this blush is perfect. It provides a natural summer flush with a small amount of summer in it I love this shade because it's not bright pink and is quite muted which is great for someone like me who is already naturally quite red/pink in skin tone. I love this blusher if I'm going for quite a pinky/ girly make up look.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation (03 True Ivory)
Unfortunatly I'm still not tanned enough to get any shade darker than this, however this foundation is a must for summer. It give a great medium coverage so is not too heavy but also still hides all of your blemishes and 'imperfections'. It's really easy to blend and gives a fairly glowy look without making you look greasy. One of the best benefits of this is that it has SPF 20 in it which is so needed for this time of year, and is great to go on top of your normal SPF to keep your skin damage free.

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Pallette in Coral Glow
I am absolutely loving the new Kate Moss range for Rimmel. The rose gold packaging is to die for and the products are beautiful. I particularly like this contour pallette. At the top is a highlight, which is perfect for a day time highlight look as it is quite muted but definitely gives a gorgeous glow in the right lighting without making you look like a disco ball. Next is a bronzer which is great for contour, and what I like about this bronzer is that it is more brown toned, where as most others I come across have a slight terracotta undertone to them. I don't mind those but it's nice to have a change. Finally is gorgeous summer coral blush which would be great for a bright and tropical make up look.

Benefit gimme brow
Normally I am quite lazy with my brows and simply just use a powder formula to fill them in with an angled brush and hope that is enough. However, with it being summer and the sun being out, my natural brows are no blonder than ever, and I just need a little bit extra to make them seem fuller, and when I got a free sample of Benefit's infamous gimme brow in this month's glamour magazine. I can't believe I haven't used this before! My brows are so much fuller and it's great.. will definitely end up buying the full size.

Barry M Strobe Highlighter
This has to be my absolute favourite thing in this whole post. This highlighter is literally amazing. It's a cream highlighter and is so so pigmented. It's so easy to apply and really easy to blend.I just apply this to the top of my cheek bones, my brow bone and my cupid's bow and it looks so gorgeous. I think it's perfect for summer as it makes you so glowey and basically like a snapchat filter. I would say that this is definitely more of a nighttime highlighter but you could definitely put it on lighter for a day time look.

Nyx soft matte lip cream in London
I don't think I'm the only one whose fallen in love with the soft matte lip creams, they're basically a cheaper version of the kylie jenner liquid lipsticks and are so good! I love this shade as it's really natural and lasts for such a long time, perfect for the heat.

Last but not least is a good solid brozer from Collection. It is a more terracotta tone than the kate moss one, which i quite like when I'm going for a more bronzed up, tanned look. It look natural and is also super cheap. What's not to love?

What are your summer beauty essentials? Do you use any of these products?

Beauty: Bubbasdoll Lip Scrub Review

Hello everyone!
Today I have a brand new product for you that I think you're going to love! Introducing Bubbasdoll lip scrubs*. It's now summer and the weather is warmer and the sun is out, which is absolutely fabulous for us. However, our skin may disagree slightly. Whilst we might all try to be good make sure we are keeping on top of moisturising and SPF, there are obviously going to be times when we slip up and might get a little bit burnt or dry and flakey. We all think about our face, but a lot of us forget about taking care of our lips, which are also a very important part of skin. And if you're like me, and have an obsession with lip glosses, lip liners, lipsticks, the works, you will definitely need to make sure you are looking after your lips to provide the best canvas that you can for your work of art. Lip scrubs are a great way to not only make sure that your lips are nice and moisturised but keep the blood flowing to make sure that they are lovely and naturally plump.

So when I was contacted recently by Kiera, asking me if  I would like to try her homemade, natural lip scrubs I was beyond excited. The scrub arrived in a gorgeous little box with little notes from Kiera herself such as how to use the product and it's ingredients. The packaging is a little glass jar with an adorable ribbon tied around it. I just found it so authentic and personal and it's so nice to have a homemade product. When I first opened the jar I was amazed at the prominent scent of toffee, making it so much more 'luxury' and nice to use. They also have the flavours of coffee, bubblegum peppermint and tropical, which I am very eager to try. Each of them contain coconut oil, natural flavours and are suitable for vegetarians. They are retailed at the bargain price of £4 each on Etsy

All you have to do is stir the scrub with the little strirers provided and apply to your lips, then rinse off. I found the formula of the scrub very comfortable and not too harsh, but could also feel it working away at my dead skin and circulation. Once I had rinsed it off, I applied a small about of vaseline to my lips to add a bit of moisture, et voila! They felt so much softer and plumper, and all in such a small amount of time. I would suggest doing this a few times a week to keep your lips irresistible.

If you would like to find out more about Bubbasdoll lip scrubs you can find them on Instagram, Twitter, and Etsy.

Thanks so much for reading this review, I hope you enjoyed it!

Beauty: Maybelline Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to talk to you about my new love, and something I have grown to become very reliant on in many of my summery makeup routine. The Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette. I knew that I had to change up my eye makeup a little bit when I realised that pretty much all the eyeshaddow palettes I own are full of browny/nudes, which is great, we all love them and they're a great go to colour. However, these are the colours I have been rocking for absolute years now and when I noticed this palette  in Superdrug, I had to get it!

What caught my eye about this palette is the fact that this contains so many gorgeous pink shades, and even the shades that aren't pink have a hint of pink shimmer in them and they all just look gorgeous together. The  top row is full of light colours which are perfect for base shades: A bright shimmery pearl, a shimmer pale pinky nude, a pale taupe, baby pink, browny pink and a pale shimmery brown.
The bottom line is full of darkey colours which are perfect for the crease and blending: A shimmery rose gold, a dark brown, a shimmery coffee colour, a dark grey, a deep rosy pink and a dark brown with perfect pink shimmers running through it.

The pigmentation of this pallete is really great, you barely need any product on the brush, which is perfect because it means that the palette will hopefully hopefully last for ages. The colours are also really easy to blend and can create either a really bright eye or a dark and smokey look. One of the best parts about this palette is the price. At only £10, I think that it is such good value for money. Personally I like to use my own brushes, however, it also comes with a double ended brush which is great for on the move if you need to touch up or adjust your look from day to night.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post! Please let me know in the comments which eye shadow palettes are your favourite?

Beauty: My Every Day Makeup Routine 2016

Hello everyone! About a year ago I posted about my everyday makeup products and decided it was time to update it, as I realised that pretty much all of the products I use now are quite new. I love reading about people's every day makeup routines as it always gives me insporation and also lets me have a snoop as to how everyone else looks so nice.

Brushes
So my absolute favourite brushes to use are my Real Techniques ones for an every day look. Everyone knows how these brushes are a staple in any girls make up collection and how reliable and and decently priced they are. I use the small angled one to do my brows as I find it's really easy to get a natural shape with this brush. I use the lighter eyeshaddow brush to sweep my base colour over my eyelid whilst using the more dense eyeshaddow brush to blend a darker colour into the crease. For foundation i use their expert face brush as I find it really works foundation into the skin so I don;t get any of those awful lines around the edge of my face. I actually use the angled foundation for my contour as I find it is really good for precision and getting a really strong cheek bone.
Face
So first on my face, I make sure I have washed my face and moisturised so that I have a really have a nice base in which to put my foundation on to. My current foundation of choice is a rediscovery for me: Maybelline's Dream Satin Liquid. It's a medium to high coverage foundation which I find is good for when I'm on the go so that I don't end up having to re apply loads throughout the day. I then cover up any dark circles or blemishes with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. I love this concealer as it really is brightening and good coverage. My contour kit of choice is the Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit, which I have loved for quite a while now and you can read my full review of it here. Long story short though, I absolutely love it. I don't wear blush everyday as I'm quite naturally rosy, but if I decide to I like to use this NYX one in chiffon. It's such a gorgeous dusky pink colour which is just my favourite for a blush. I also love how it's got a lovely subtle shimmer in it as well, which great for the summer months.

Eyes
One of the products which hasn't actually changed since last year is my Sleek Brow Kit. I love this one. The thing which I first noticed about this brow kit is how it is in pretty much exactly the same format as the Benefit one, which I always used to use, however this one is just a fraction of the price, and in my opinion is just as good. With brows, I don't really like to experiment with brows and I definitely feel comfortable with this one. My eyeshaddow pallette of choice is the NYX 'Love in Paris' pallete which has just the classic nudes and browns you need for everyday. I like to switch up which colours I use in this pallette, but since it's summer at the moment I am currently loving the lighter colours. I also use the collection fast stroke eyeliner for a small cat flick and then the maybelline lash sensational mascara. My lipgloss is lovely pink colour from Benefit.

So there we are, my everyday makeup routine! I hope that you enjoyed reading this post!

Beauty: My Super Simple Skin Care Routine!

Hi everyone!
As you may know, I am currently a student at Bournemouth University. As much as I love uni and am having the time of my life, I have had to come up with some cost effective ways of look after my skin. Luckily, the drugstore and high street stores such as boots or superdrug are full of great products to help keep your skin looking great. In superdrug you can even use your NUS discount card, excellent! Today I thought I would talk you through my current skin care routine as a student to maybe give you some inspiration if you're strapped for cash but still want gorgeous skin. I would say that I have normal skin that sometimes gets a little oily on my nose, but nothing drastic. I'm quite lucky in that I don't really get many spots, and so therefore my skincare routine is purely to keep in good shape.

The first product I use is Garnier's micellar water to remove all of my make up. I prefer to use this sort of thing over makeup wipes as I feel that its much gentler on the skin and actually works better. Normally I will squeeze a generous amount on a cotton pad and hold on my eyes for at least 30 seconds so it gets into and breaks down my makeup, so it all just easily slides off with the sweep of a pad. I then take off the rest of my makeup with a fresh cotton pad. Easy peasy!

I then cleanse my face with warm water and this Clean and Clear deep wash. I've used this product for absolutely years and it just works so well for me and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. My top tip would be remembering to wash your hands before washing your face so you don't get loads of nasty dirt from throughout the day contaminating your face!

If I'm having a bit of a pamper evening, I will use a Lush face mask to make my face feel extra soft. At the moment I'm loving love lettuce, as its an exfoliating face mask and just gives my skin that extra bit of glow! I use this about once a week just as an extra bit of pamper for myself.
The final step is my simple moisturiser, I absolutely love this one as it's super light and doesn't make my face feel all oily as some other moisturisers do. It has SPF 15 in it which is great for preventing premature aging and is so affordable. This size bottle lasts such a long time as well.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my skin care routine and maybe picked up some products you might like to use yourself. Do let me know if there are any products or brands you think I should try out!

Beauty: Collective haul (Boots, Feel Unique and Superdrug!)

Hello everyone!
So recently I have done a bit of beauty shopping and I really wanted to share what I got with you. I have a collection of re purchases and new buys, so carry on reading if you want to find out what I got.

1) Real Techniques expert face brush and foundation brush
I've always loved real techniques cosmetics, but for some reason I've never tried these two particular brushes! These brushes are constantly raved about and I thought it was time that I treated to myself to some new face brushes. These are such a decent price as well, I can't wait to try them!

2) Eyelure lengthening false eyelashes
I absolutely love eyleure's eyelashes, they are so easy to use and so natural. These are also such a decent price! These ones are so nice as they are lengthening and can be used during day to day life without looking way too dressed up.

 3 Nyx Makeup
Oh my goodness, I can't tell you how excited I've been since Nyx has been available in the UK, as it's such a good quality but reasonably priced makeup brand. I decided to go for a brown tone eye shaddow pallete (love in paris) their liquid lipstick (in London) and their, highlighter/ blusher (in chiffon). So far I've only tried out the lipstick but I am definitely so impressed!

4) Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation
This has always been one of my favourite drugstore foundations, so this is pretty much just a repurchase. I would say that this is a pretty high coverage and gives quite a glowy finish and is just a staple for my every day makeup routine

5) Garnier summer body gradual tan lotion
This is an absolute essential for me over the summer months! Unfortunately I am not of those people blessed with naturally tanned skin, so i have to fake it! I like to use this as it is super simple to use, just by appling a little bit every day you will get a gorgeous tan, without all the pain on sunbathing!

6) Rimmel Nail Varnish
I decided to pick up this really gorgeous, summery light blue colour. I love these nail varnishes as they're super easy to apply and dry so quickly! They're also super cheap at £2.99 each.

Hope you enjoyed seeing what I picked up recently! What have you been purchasing recently beauty wise? Don't forget to follow me on twitter, instagram and bloglovin!
