Beauty: My Every Day Makeup Routine 2016

Hello everyone! About a year ago I posted about my everyday makeup products and decided it was time to update it, as I realised that pretty much all of the products I use now are quite new. I love reading about people's every day makeup routines as it always gives me insporation and also lets me have a snoop as to how everyone else looks so nice.

Brushes
So my absolute favourite brushes to use are my Real Techniques ones for an every day look. Everyone knows how these brushes are a staple in any girls make up collection and how reliable and and decently priced they are. I use the small angled one to do my brows as I find it's really easy to get a natural shape with this brush. I use the lighter eyeshaddow brush to sweep my base colour over my eyelid whilst using the more dense eyeshaddow brush to blend a darker colour into the crease. For foundation i use their expert face brush as I find it really works foundation into the skin so I don;t get any of those awful lines around the edge of my face. I actually use the angled foundation for my contour as I find it is really good for precision and getting a really strong cheek bone.
Face
So first on my face, I make sure I have washed my face and moisturised so that I have a really have a nice base in which to put my foundation on to. My current foundation of choice is a rediscovery for me: Maybelline's Dream Satin Liquid. It's a medium to high coverage foundation which I find is good for when I'm on the go so that I don't end up having to re apply loads throughout the day. I then cover up any dark circles or blemishes with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer. I love this concealer as it really is brightening and good coverage. My contour kit of choice is the Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit, which I have loved for quite a while now and you can read my full review of it here. Long story short though, I absolutely love it. I don't wear blush everyday as I'm quite naturally rosy, but if I decide to I like to use this NYX one in chiffon. It's such a gorgeous dusky pink colour which is just my favourite for a blush. I also love how it's got a lovely subtle shimmer in it as well, which great for the summer months.

Eyes
One of the products which hasn't actually changed since last year is my Sleek Brow Kit. I love this one. The thing which I first noticed about this brow kit is how it is in pretty much exactly the same format as the Benefit one, which I always used to use, however this one is just a fraction of the price, and in my opinion is just as good. With brows, I don't really like to experiment with brows and I definitely feel comfortable with this one. My eyeshaddow pallette of choice is the NYX 'Love in Paris' pallete which has just the classic nudes and browns you need for everyday. I like to switch up which colours I use in this pallette, but since it's summer at the moment I am currently loving the lighter colours. I also use the collection fast stroke eyeliner for a small cat flick and then the maybelline lash sensational mascara. My lipgloss is lovely pink colour from Benefit.

So there we are, my everyday makeup routine! I hope that you enjoyed reading this post!

Fashion: #OOTD

Hello everyone!
Happy Sunday, I'm back today with another outfit of the day post. I don't know about you but I absolutely love reading these. Getting to see what others wear in their day to day lives and get inspo for what I could wear is just fab. I am absolutely loving the fact that we are getting a bit of summer now here in the UK. I am lapping it up and making sure I make the most of getting my arms and legs out before we're back to rain and clouds again (which will inevitably happen soon).

So for this outfit I decided to wear one of my favourite items in my wardrobe, my button up denim skirt from Miss Selfridge. I have been obsessed with these ever since they made a reappearance again from the nineties. They seem so girly and cute and a lovely alternative to wearing shorts all summer long. This one I picked up was an absolute STEAL from the sale last month at just £10 ( I was espescially happy because my sister paid full price for around £30 not long before, SCORE!)

Tucked into the skirt is such a simple but staple top in my wardrobe from boohoo. It is high necked and plain white, and goes with pretty much anything. I like the way that this style of top fits my body as it's comfortable and not too revealing whilst still accentuating my shape. It can be worn with skirts, shorts and jeans and be dressed up or down for any occasion - what more does any one need? I also feel that opting for a white top at this time of year instead of black or grey (my other staple colours) just makes the outfit so much more light and summery.

Now for the main part of the outfit that I am absolutely obsessesed with - a khaki sleeveless blazer. Now first of all I'm going to make a bold statement: Khaki is my favourite colour for summer this year. Yep. Not pink, blue, yellow or any of the more bright colours you might associate with summer, but khaki. Firstly, it suits any skin tone, and will compliment you to make you look more glowy and tanned and summery (yay). Second of all, it just adds a bit of class and sophisitation to any outfit, and is a great pair with white or gold, which on holiday can be a gorgeous 'goddess' style look. This blazer in particular I think adds something extra and makes the outfit that more interesting. I topped off the outfit with my all time favourite chelsea boots that I've talked about a million times.

Thank you so much for reading guys, I hope that you enjoyed this post! Don't forget to let me know what you think and follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Bloglovin'

Fashion: Your guide to Prom!

Hello everyone!
I am so excited to write today's post. As I am sure many of you know, prom season is coming up and for some people well and truly underway. I absolutely love this time of year and have myself been to two proms, and I am so sad that I've left school and wont have that again :(. However a great compromise for me is writing a blog post in order to inspire and guide some of you who have no idea what they want to wear or how they want to style it. This post is in collaboration with Sherry London, an awesome website that sells evening dresses and has lots of choice and up to date styles. The have such a range from long evening dresses to plus size evening dresses. I thought in this post I would show some of the different styles of prom dresses out there and who they would suit. without further ado, lets jump right into the post! Here are some photos of myself and my second prom in Year 13 last year!

Now personally when I came to looking for a prom dress, I knew that I wanted an evening maxi dress because this is completely different to anything that I wear usually and I wanted how I looked on prom night to stand out from any other night. I absolutely love this sleeveless halter neck dress as it's such a classic style and is just so classy. This dress is amazing if you want something a little more figure hugging without having to show off cleavage. I think this dress would look amazing with simple down hairstyle like the model or with a more creative up do, this dress is perfect to dress up or down as you wish!

If you wanted to go for something a bit more daring and different, have a look at some evening dresses uk. I am absolutely in love with this dress! The sheer top paired with the slit full skirt is so unique without being too 'out there' you'll have so many people asking about this dress and really stand out from the crowd!

Looking for something a bit more grown up and sexy? Black evening dresses will be right up your street. This halter neck screams elegance with a diamante strap and a plain long dress, such a gorgeous gown that will suit any body! This also allows for some more 'out there accessories' such as a diamante clutch or shoes, which, lets face it, if we can't wear the for prom, when can we wear them?

If you wanted a pop of colour added to your prom outfit and make sure all eyes are on you, go for a red evening dress. This 3/4 length sleeve dress is perfect for those of you who want something a bit different and quirky with such gorgeous details and a sheer material is absolutely to die for! With this dress you will definitely capture red carpet glam and really unleash your inner Taylor Swift... now who doesn't want that?

So those are my top picks for prom dresses this season! I am so jealous of any one who has a prom to prepare for and would love to hear which style is your favourite, let me know in the comments! If it's you're prom this year and you're finding yourself to stress out. seriously just have fun with it, wear a dress that you are comfortable in and that shows your personality, and rememeber that it's all about having fun with your friends and celebrating the end of exams together, and that what you look like is just a small (albeit fun) part of it. Party hard and have the time of your life!

Life: My first year at university - a round up

Hello everyone!
I cannot believe that we are already in the month of June, how crazy is that?! What's even crazier is that I have already finished my first year at university, and my God what a whirlwind my life has been since September. Today  thought I would talk about my experiences and how I got on for those of you who are off to uni, thinking of applying or are in the same boat. I have to say that I have enjoyed it so much and I am so glad that I decided to go, however I know that university is not for a lot of people, so take what I'm saying with a pinch of salt and make sure you do your research if you're thinking of applying.

Bournemouth
So I am studying communication and media at Bournemouth University. I first visited Bournemouth almost two years ago whilst I was studying for my A levels on an open day - these are a great way to experience the university and what life will be like there! Strangely enough, this was the very first university I had visited and in all honesty I expected to just get an idea of what university was all about. However, in a strange twist (of fate?) I absolutely fell in love with the area and am to this day still so happy that I picked it. Bournemouth for those of you that don't know is a coastal town in the south west of england. One of the main things that attracted me to this town was the gorgeous beaches which were within walking distance, as I absolutely love being by the sea. The town also has a great night life as well as lots of different places to eat and music venues and shops to keep us entertained, so I knew i could settle in here great!

 The Course
I have always loved media studies since I first took it in year ten and I knew that I wanted to carry it on at university and make a career out of it one day. So far I have found the course really great. I have come out with 2:1's in the majority of my assignments and I am really engaging with the content. We have covered topics such as Journalism, Film and advertising which I just find so interesting and I think that helps so much when completing my assignment, I have also made some really good friends on my course which is great as we support and help each other with assignments and exams. It was a bit more difficult to adjust to the independent learning style of university compared to A Levels, however I feel that it has been important in helping me to stand on my own two feet more,

Accommodation
I have been so lucky with where I was staying during first years. When I think of halls of residence I generally think of dingy old rooms that are dated and worn out.. however mine were nothing like this at all. Dorchester House, where I was staying, was built in 2012, so it was only 3 years old when I moved in. It was modern and clean and well looked after. I also had an enuite bathroom and a double bed! Along with this I was sharing my flat with 3 other girls who have become some of my best friends (9 months in and there has still been no arguments, fabulous!).

Overall my first year of university has been a blast and I would highly reccommend that anyone who is thinking about it should definitely look into it more and maybe even give it a go. I have learnt so many life, social and academic skills and I honestly can't wait for what is to come. Let me know in the comments your experiences of university, and feel free to ask me any questions :)

Fashion: #OOTD

Hello everyone and happy Sunday!
I was feeling a bit uninspired as to what I could write for my blogpost today. and I've really been super busy, however I didn't want to miss an upload. So what I decided to do was write a post about my outfit today and take some quick pictures in my room (hi, welcome to my uni room by the way... what do you think?).
I really liked my outfit today, it's a really simple and classic sort of outfit for me on a casual day. The blue cami top if from New Look literally years ago, however, I still love it. It's so light and airy as it's made from cotton, and has beautiful sequinned detailing on the neckline and the hem, and is perfect for a warm sunny day like it was today.
My jeans are some grey (formally black) ripped topshop joni jeans. These are such a staple in my wardrobe as they are so easy to chuck on when you want to be comfy and casual and still look cool. These also go with pretty much everything as well!
My shoes are my all time favourites, my white low rise converse. They are shoes which I will probably own for the rest of my life as they are such a classic. I think most girls own a pair of these and I can see why, they are so comfy and so versatile, an absolute must have!
To add a bit of summer colour to the outfit is this gorgeous bag I bought on holiday in a Turkish market a few years ago. This is literally the perfect summer bag and is a great size for all your essentials.
Finally I am also wearing some Primark sunglasses on my head.

Thank you so much for reading this outfit post. and that it gave you some insight into what I like to wear on a daily basis! Don't forget to follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Bloglovin!

Beauty: My Super Simple Skin Care Routine!

Hi everyone!
As you may know, I am currently a student at Bournemouth University. As much as I love uni and am having the time of my life, I have had to come up with some cost effective ways of look after my skin. Luckily, the drugstore and high street stores such as boots or superdrug are full of great products to help keep your skin looking great. In superdrug you can even use your NUS discount card, excellent! Today I thought I would talk you through my current skin care routine as a student to maybe give you some inspiration if you're strapped for cash but still want gorgeous skin. I would say that I have normal skin that sometimes gets a little oily on my nose, but nothing drastic. I'm quite lucky in that I don't really get many spots, and so therefore my skincare routine is purely to keep in good shape.

The first product I use is Garnier's micellar water to remove all of my make up. I prefer to use this sort of thing over makeup wipes as I feel that its much gentler on the skin and actually works better. Normally I will squeeze a generous amount on a cotton pad and hold on my eyes for at least 30 seconds so it gets into and breaks down my makeup, so it all just easily slides off with the sweep of a pad. I then take off the rest of my makeup with a fresh cotton pad. Easy peasy!

I then cleanse my face with warm water and this Clean and Clear deep wash. I've used this product for absolutely years and it just works so well for me and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. My top tip would be remembering to wash your hands before washing your face so you don't get loads of nasty dirt from throughout the day contaminating your face!

If I'm having a bit of a pamper evening, I will use a Lush face mask to make my face feel extra soft. At the moment I'm loving love lettuce, as its an exfoliating face mask and just gives my skin that extra bit of glow! I use this about once a week just as an extra bit of pamper for myself.
The final step is my simple moisturiser, I absolutely love this one as it's super light and doesn't make my face feel all oily as some other moisturisers do. It has SPF 15 in it which is great for preventing premature aging and is so affordable. This size bottle lasts such a long time as well.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my skin care routine and maybe picked up some products you might like to use yourself. Do let me know if there are any products or brands you think I should try out!

Fashion: Adidas ZX Flux - My New Favourite Everyday Shoes

Hey everyone.
Today I really wanted to do a fashion post but I was unsure as to what I wanted to write about. So what I did was think about  what I had been wearing more and more of recently and there was no doubt that my new trainers (Adidas ZX Flux) were in pretty much all my outfits. Now I never used to be one to wear trainers. I used to literally always just wear black chelsea  boots all the time  and go for a smart look every single day.  As much as I still love them, I reaalised that I really wanted and needed a pair of more comfy shoes in my life.
Enter trainers!
I absolutely love these trainers, they're sporty looking and light and so so so comfortable. I literally feel like I'm walking on clouds or pillows when I wear these. SO GOOD. I feel that these are just the perfect shoes to wear with most casual outfits too. I like to wear these with skinny jeans, mom jeans, my dungrees as well as my yoga leggings (which as a uni student I practically live in).
These trainers come in navy, black and white as well as a few special edition colours as well. I honestly could not recommend these trainers more for a comfy wardrobe staple!

What trainers do you have in your wardrobe? Any particular styles you think that i should purchase next? Hope you're all having a good day! Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin',Twitter and Instagram!
