Trying to be cool

Trying to be cool

Trying to be cool by loveourfashion featuring high heel boots

I think this sort of outfit is so effortlessly styled, yet there's something about it that give you that instant 'cool hipster girl that lives in Camden' vibe. Now obviously, I do not fall under that category, but this is the sort of outfit I would like to think that I could pull off. I absolutely adore the check dress from Boohoo, as I said in previous posts I am loving shift dresses right now, as the just look so cool. I'm also inn love with this rag and bone fedora and I think the burganday gives a little something extra to the outfit. What definitely makes the look 'cool' though is the chunky heeled boots with the tasselled backpack, absolutely gorgeous!

March favourites

Hello everyone! I apologise that my March favourites are a few days late but I have been crazy busy with revision for my upcoming exams (boooo) but yes, here is what I have been loving this month!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Recently, I have been soo bad with taking off my make up and just using wipes, which is just a massive no no really. I decided to try the Micellar water as loads of people have raved about it, plus it's such a good price (around £4 I believe?). I always struggle with getting all my mascara off, but this literally blitzes it away, brilliant!

Rimmel 60 seconds in 503 - Mind The Gap, Victoria
As its starting to look like spring, I feel like I should get my nails to match that. This is a gorgeous cornflower blue shade, and I absolutely love the nail polish. While it may take a little longer than 60 seconds to actually dry, they do dry super quickly and the round shape of the brush makes it very easy to apply.

Barry M Nail Paint in 308 - Berry
This colour is also an amazing one for spring, I just think that it's so pretty! Can't really go wrong with a classic pastel colour from Barry M really can you?

Collection Gothic Glam Lipstick in 1- Seduction
Collections new range of 'Gothic Glam' lipsticks are wonderful. I absolutely love the way that they go on to my lips as they're so soft and stay on for ages. I'm absolutely in love with this colour as well, as it's not completely dark and gothic, but it gives a little bit of edge to a makeup look

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
I've been itching to try out this mascara since it came out! I have the flattest eyelashes (honestly, they point straight down, they're hopeless) So this mascara sounded perfect for me, as it promises to curl lashes as using hair 'rollers' - hence why the lid is shaped like a roller, and I have to say that it pretty much does what it says on the tin. It's very good at separating my lashes and lifting them, and I don't really find myself reaching for the eyelash curlers either - well done benefit!

Dance Mom's
Recently I can't stop watching Dance Moms on Lifetime. I think that the moms and Abby are absolutely hilarious and the girls are so talented. It's one of those programmes that you hate to love, but keep on watching anyway.

Review: Sleek brow kit

My main nemesis with my face is definitely my eyebrows. It's not even case that I don't have any... they're just so blonde that they are not physically visible, so I am one of the unlucky people who have to fill in their brows every single day, just to save my from looking like an alien!

This also means that I am constantly on the look out for an amazing brow kit. I have to say I'm not keen on brow pencils as I find them too fiddly. Recently I came across the Sleek Brow kit, and at a decent price of £8.49 from Superdrug, I thought why not!

So this brow kit comes with two sections. One is of a more waxy consistency, and the other is of a powdery consistency (like eye shadow). It also comes with an angled shaped brush and a more round ended brush, as well as a tiny pair of tweezers for any of those stray hairs. I like to use the angled brush to apply the waxy section on the left to get the shape of the brows that I want, and I find that its really easy to apply this really lightly. I then use the more round brush and the right hand section over the top to define it.

Overall I would say that this kit gives a really natural look and I find it really easy to apply, and definitely does not give that 'drawn on look'. Here's how they look on:

HAUL: Rimmel and Collection

I am absolutely loving makeup from the drugstore at the moment! Last week I was in Wilkinson, and noticed a huge selection of discounts and deals in the Rimmel and Collection sections, so, this is what I got.

Collection volumising mascara (17 Ultra Black) What drew me to this packaging is that it looks uncannily like the 'Maybelline, The Falsies Mascara'. I really like the look of the brush as it looks as if it will be great for lash separation and lifting, excited to try it out! It was amazing value at £3.99

Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation (200 Soft Beige) I've used this foundation before, it gives quite high coverage and definitely gives a flawless finish, very blend-able as well, and at £4.99 you can't go wrong really?

Collection Work The Colour Lip Butter (3 Vintage Rose) I am in LOVE!! This lip butter from collection is perfect for me. I've been looking for a great 'you're lips but better' shade and I think that this is it. It's quite pinky but definitely suits my skin tone so well, and the consistency is lovely.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner (001 Black) I've been using normal liquid eye liner for a while now so thought that I would try out the rimmel scandal eyes liner, which is the felt tip style, for a  change. Rimmel Soft Khol Kajal Eye Liner Pencil (06 Jet Black) I also picked up the rimmel kohl liner as well for when I want a more smokey liner look

The Rimmel stay matte powder (005 Silky Beige) and the Collection lasting perfection concealer (2 Cool Medium) are holy grail products of mine so I wasn't going to miss an opportunity to stock up on these!

The Smart Look

Recently, I have been loving making all of my outfits look smart. I am absolutely in love with boyfriend jackets paired with skinny jeans and loafers, as well as shift dresses with Chelsea boots. I love the way that these outfits are both practical and stylish, and look as if so much effort has been put in, when in reality, it's just a few simple pieces put together to make an oh - so delightful outfit.

The Versatile Award

Wow! I'm so sad that I've had literally no time to blog over the last two weeks, I've been so crazy

busy with my A Level work! Finally I've got some time to sit and do nothing, so I decided I would finally do the Versatile award I was nominated for! I think that this is a great way for all us bloggers to get to know each other in the community!

The rules:

Thank the blogger who nominated you for the award – hopefully with a lovely link to their own blog: The Other Dreamgirl
Tell your readers and person who nominated you 7 facts about yourself.
Finally, nominate 15 other blogs that you have recently discovered for the award

My seven facts about myself:

1) Recently for my college year book I was voted 'Most likely to be a crazy cat lady' - I'm just in love with cats!!

2) I'm hopefully heading off to Bournemouth University in September to study Communication and Media (if I get the grades!) I'm so excited because it's the perfect course for me and I absolutely love the town and the beach in Bournemouth!

3) This is so bad, but I haven't had a hair cut in a year.. my hair is no so long and down to my bum! I have to admit, my hair could be in worse condition, I'm kinda proud!

4) since I was twelve years old I've had the biggest crush on Nick Jonas and still to this day I think I'm in love with him, and I want to get married to him haha!!!

5) For my A Levels I am doing English Literature, Drama and Theatre studies and Media Studies, and absolutely love them and hopefully will do well!

6) When I'm older I would love to live in London and work in the media, either as a pro blogger, journalist, in advertising or anything along those lines!

7) The reason I got into blogging was because I started reading Zoella's in 2012, and I knew that I wanted a go! Its taken me so many attempts to get the courage to post my own but I'm sooo glad that I did! I hope that I can keep building my followers and comments!

Thanks for reading guys! Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' and GFC!

Spring Wishlist

Okay, so from the weather outside, it still seems like we're a long way off from getting to spring, but I'm finding my self more and more dreaming about what clothes I can wear when the weather starts to warm up. So  here is my spring wish list.

Since I saw these silver loafers by Michael Kors I have not been able to stop thinking about them. Of course I will never be able to afford them, but a girl can dream! I would pair this with a simple black and white outfit and a dusty pink hand bag. I didn't end up jumping on the white jeans bandwagon last year, but I definitely want a pair this year!

Black Cami - £5.85 sheinside.com
White Jeans - £42 nordstrom.com
Silver Loafters - £83 farfetch.com
Baby pink bag - £29 aldoshoes.com
Untitled #25

Plaid shirts are my absolute favourite! I love lazy looks and these are absolutely perfect in my mind. I would love to get a pair of ripped jeans this year (again they're the topshop ones, best jeans in my opinion)

Levi's Denim jacket - £85  coggles.com
Ripped jeans - £44 topshop.com
Plaid shirt - £19 uniqlo.com
Mariella Busby - £74 Clarks

I now absolutely can't wait for the warmer weather to come! What are you looking forward to wearing in the new season?
