A WEEKEND IN BUDAPEST

Hello everyone!
Over the May bank holiday, my friend and I decided to spend the weekend in Budapest, Hungary. It seemed like the perfect place as the flight was very short and cheap and we had heard so many good things about it. We definitely weren't disappointed - there is so much to see and do and so much culture there! Keep reading to find out what we did!

We started the weekend exploring Buda castle, which is beautiful building with a lot of history. They have some beautiful gardens and you can also get a lovely view of the city over the river. From here we walked towards the Fisherman's Bastion which is lovely white buildings and so much to take photos of ( a bloggers dream). Later in the day we also visited some of the infamous thermal baths for some relaxing in the afternoon. The one we visited was in an amazing historic building. It looked a bit odd from the outside, but once you got in, it was in a massive dome and looked absolutely lovely. I swear any aches and pains I had were gone after that! The evening was finished by having some drinks by the Denaube in a cool little bar.
The second day we visited the large market with so much traditional Hungarian food and beautiful little trinkets. Its in a gorgeous building and there is so much to see there and food to try I actually felt a bit sad that I wasn't able to try everything! After this we talk a long walk along the Denaube to the parliament buildings and St. Stephen’s basilica - again both of these buildings were crazy beautiful and architecturally intricate.
Our last day was the sunniest day, so we decided to visit Budapest Zoo and Botanical gardens, which was a lovely experience!
Overall was a wonderful weekend with lots of cultural experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Where should be next on my travel list? Let me know your favourites in the comments!
